MEETING MINUTES

February 22, 2017

1. Welcome
2. Roll Call

North Hardin was absent

            Old Business

3. Minutes from January were approved by David Clark, seconded by Bill Broaddus
4. New Business
5. Mr. Broaddus reported balance of $1877.66
6. Jeff Gumm- Regional Bowling/Archery

Elizabethtown was Boys Region Champs

Central hardin was Girls Region Champs and State Champs

Approximately 570 games took place in 2 days, with that said Gumm said “With the growth of bowling that Lexington may need to look into going to districts then regions.

Asked if there was an agreement of some sort if a loss finacial took place that participating schools split the loss

7. Mike Ash: Baseball/Softball

Needs all schedules if have not sent

Umpires are down across the state

Currently our ASSOCIATION has 28 Baseball, 24 Softball, and 12 that do both.

First 5 weeks of season should be out within the next week

Mike will be out March 27th due to surgery

8. Glenn Spalding: Baseball/Softball

Issues: 2 Umpires had Mike Ash’s arbiter password and were making changes to schedules, which is illegal according to KHSAA. The 2 Chief umpires were sitting down with Mike Ash and making schedule out and assigning the post season schedule. Also umpires were switching games and no changes being made on arbiter.

Policy Board met with Mike Ash and 2 Chief umpires on these issues, and the policy board has agreed to let Mike Holt enter games into arbiter for baseball and softball. However if you have a change or cancellation you should contact Mike Ash who then will contact Mike Holt to make change. Lastly if a umpire shows up to work a game and it was not listed on arbiter as the umpire, and you did not receive notification that a change was made, then contact policy board.

  9) Joshua Whitehouse: Google Docs

Josh spoke of the convenience with doing contracts and sharing info with others by using Docs.

With that Tim Deaton suggested starting a media page or website to get info out throughout the region. Jeff Gumm made a motion for David Dawson and Josh Whitehouse to take the idea and make it reality. Brent Campbell 2nd all was in favor

Girls Draw @ Marion Co Saturday 2/25 @ 11am

Boys Draw @ Central Hardin Sunday 2/26 @ 10am
